Everybody faces some obstacles. As for me, I faced some difficulties during my early years in school. I think it was likely that my classmates’ unfriendliness and my poor academic performance brought me that influence.
I was lack of confidence because some mean classmates thought I was fat and ugly. Because of that, I had few friends. What’s worse, I failed my exams almost every time on mid-term examination. I did not know why everybody except me, understood what the teacher was talking about, Especially on English class. It was like I was the only one who was not in the classroom.
I was so helpless and disappointed that I thought nothing and no one could ever get me out of the obstacles neither can I get over it. It was until I moved to Taichung that my confidence built up. I remembered the first day at school with my new classmates; everybody was so friendly and passionate. And thanks to my cram school teachers, even though I already forgot her name and looks, when I moved to Taichung, I got a lot of progress on my academic performance. It was also when I started to lean English well. One day I was listening to an English song and amazingly I could sing along with it. It was at that moment that I finally realized that I could do one thing right. And it had brought me a lot of faith and hope.
I would like to thank to all my friends and families who never gives up on me and who has always by my side to support me. I am not ugly anymore; at least my heart is not. I am surrounding by love of my friends and families and I am doing great now.

Moving out
Moving out from a place I’ve been staying for years could be hard. However, almost every college student needs to move out from home. There might be some reasons for why so many college students live by themselves or with friends.
First, if a student needs to transport for long to get to school, he/she might want to move to somewhere near school. Second, it could be that he/she just simply wants to learn to be more independent and enjoy how it is like to have freedom. Third, he/she chooses a university that is away from his/her home city. Of course, in that way they wouldn’t have choices but to move out.
Take myself for example, I live in Taichung city with my parents but five months ago I decided to move out because it is troublesome driving for forty minutes or more to school. Well, in one way I would like to learn to be responsible for myself and make more friends, so I asked my parents’ opinion about moving out. Besides the reasons mentioned, a lot of friends of mine chose to study in some other cities because they wanted to experience the differences between cities.
Whatever the reasons are, we need to take good care of ourselves in order not to worry our parents. What’s more, we have to study hard and keep out of troubles.

Feelings
A friend of mine fell in love with a guy in her class. Every time she comes back from Taipei, she tells me everything that happened to them. I can tell that she really likes that guy. What matters is that she can’t tell him how much she cares for him because she thinks things would be different if she does. She is afraid that they would not be friends anymore if she tells him her feelings.
One of my high school teachers told us that if you want to ask somebody for coffee or something like that you just need to go for it because the answer would neither be yes nor no. I told my friend this but she still can’t step out.
About last week, she told me that she really wanted to give up on this feeling because it is so tiring keep caring for him like this. There are always lots of girls around him and my friend doesn’t want to be like other girls. My friend is always waiting for him to come to her. Every time he talks to her, she would feel nervous and don’t know what to say. I think now all she needs is time, so that she can stay away from her feeling for him. I mean, if she really can’t tell him how she feels.

Journal 4 - The Most Unforgettable Event in My Life
There are a lot of memorable events in my life so far. However, there is one I can never forget. It was during my second year in high school when I got to play the role of the Fairy Godmother in our school’s annual drama, which that year was Cinderella. Before months' rehearsal, we had an audition. Before the director starting to rehearse, we had an audition. Luckily, I was selected to play the role of Fairy Godmother, which was my favorite part of the entire play. We began the months’ rehearsing and preparing afterwards. After the audition, we began one month's rehearsal and preparation. My classmates and I had so much fun but at the same time we had much pressure because of not knowing whether we could perform good enough to reach the director’s expectation.
The day we had our play was a wonderful day; everything goes so well that I wondered if I was having a dream. When I was on stage with Cinderella, the spotlights were so bright that I could barely see people off stage. I then became more relaxed and felt ready to show people what I’ve got. Finally when the curtain went down, the audience applauded and then everybody my classmates and I shouted out loud crying, hugging each other.
Weeks had passed after the play, my friends and I still couldn’t forget about the joy being on stage. Even now I can still remember clearly the moment I was presenting.

Journal 3-Labor Education
I don’t know where this idea, Labor Education, comes from. However, our president and directors believe that bringing this into practice helps college student to learn to be responsible for things. Some people say it is because of the school system; Labor Education has been one of our school traditions since Chaoyang was established. No matter what the purpose is, it seems that Labor Education seems will be practiced for forever.
Early in the morning, I need to drive at least thirty minutes to school. Labor Education starts from seven ten to seven forty, only takes thirty minutes. You might say that it is okay nothing to take only thirty minutes in 24 hours to clean the campus. I say I must get up at six or even earlier in order to get to Chaoyang University, which is quite tough for me.
What I am trying to say is that we can actually learn to be responsible by doing house works for Mothers or thinking more maturely. In my very personal opinion, there are plenty of ways for us to learn to be a grown up.
I say thanks to the school system, because we don't need to practice Labor Education after the first year at college.

S2 Midterm
Some people say that one actually needs to go abroad to learn English well. In my opinion, however, to learn English well has many ways. It can depend on one’s motivation in purchasing knowledge and sources of environment.
One may want to study English because his or her job requires such language to work well. On the other hand, one might just simply want to broaden his or her mind. Whatever the reason is, it is necessary that one clearly understands what the motivation is of his/her learning English. Once one has the motivations in studying the language, he/she only needs to spend time on it. Besides motivations, it is considered important to use information. One can go to a library, a cram school, and surfing the Internet to learn English.
To learn English well definitely takes time. Except for the elements mentioned, the most important of all is to practice nonstop. In conclusion, one doesn’t have to study abroad to learn things well, keeping on working is the best way.

Journal 2 revice
The saying goes: Cameras never lies. However, as the technology became more and more advanced, a lot of pictures could be adjusted. Many of the pictures we see today are colored or shaded. The pictures posted on BEC can serve as a good example. The pictures on the right are different from the ones on the left because they were in brighter colors. What’s more, the stars' slender figure and wrinkles were modified using computer effect.
When celebrities are being snapped a shot, they don’t need to show their feelings. What really shows is the moment they being taken a picture. Cameras can now be used anywhere and anytime because they have a lot of functions to choose from. For example, if it’s night time I could choose a day time mode.
Next time when I see beautiful pictures of celebrities or the famous, I would definitely think twice before saying how great they look.

Assignment 1 - Paparazzi
Everybody knows that we should respect others. However, it appears that paparazzi care nothing about this sense. They chase after celebrities, stalk them and discredit the reputation of the famous.
No matter one is being chased or is chasing after another, it is a threat to one’s life. For instance, if one is driving on a road and paparazzi is running after him/her. It can be extremely dangerous not only for passengers but also for pedestrians. “I definitely think they go over the top. ...In the past it has been very dangerous to stalk celebrities -- Look at Princess Diana!” said Marla Gill, Yorba Linda from California. It would cause more damages to society if paparazzi keep going over the line.
Michael Fox, the famous actor said that the paparazzi tried to pose as doctors and nurses at the hospital where his wife was giving birth to their baby. What’s worse, they even attempt to snap a shot on celebrities’ private properties. Paparazzi do whatever it takes just to take a picture of the rich and the famous. It is likely that paparazzi do things that are more ridiculous. Gloria Pence, Irvine, from California presents,” I cannot understand how people can become so overly possessed with movie stars and their children. …Why give your thoughts or your attention to them. I say leave them alone to their privacy.” Indeed, I think what we need to pay attention to is celebrities’ public activity not their privacy.
There have been too many cases about how the press and media discredit the reputation of the famous. The well-known Taiwanese emcee Little S was reported to be violated by her husband. However, Little S said the report was not only a slander on her but also an injury to her reputation. In my opinion, writing something that is not true is harmful to people. In other words, it does no good to anybody and no help to society. S. Bishop, Brownwood, from Texas commented, “I get tired of the media thinking we really want to know all the details about the stars. They are just people. I like some of their movies or shows, but who cares about the individual actors.”
Though photograph and journalizing is the way paparazzi make a living, it is celebrities’ hope to give them some peace and quiet.

Rewrite: My first winter vacation in college
It is hard to imagine how fast time goes. My first winter vacation in college has past for weeks. However, I still miss the times I had during winter vacation. I had been working in a restaurant. Besides that, I had a good time hanging out with my friends to Sun Moon Lake and visiting my relatives in Taipei.
I started to work on the first day of Chinese New Year. Chinese prefer to get together on New Years Eve, so the restaurant was full of customers through opening hours. Though I was exhausted working for long period of time, I was glad to earn so much money. By the way, it happened to be my birthday this year. I thought nobody would remember my birthday. However, later on my friend came in the restaurant and surprised me. If I wasn’t working I would have given her a big hug. What’s more, my friends and I visited Sun Moon Lake this winter vacation. I drove for almost one hundred and fifty kilometers to Nanto and finally to our destination: Sun Moon Lake. We took a boat to another side of the Lake and had plenty of food made by native residents. The sights there were so breathtaking that we couldn’t say a word. I would love to visit there again once I get a chance. Last but not least, I went to Taipei to call on my relatives. When I arrived at Taipei, I took the MRT to Dunghu to meet my uncle and aunt. After that we went to Wego to have lunch with my grandmother and cousins. My aunt Nancy treated us with Ice Cream Hot Pot. It was the most delicious ice cream I have ever had.
Although I enjoyed this winter vacation very much, there seems to be something I had not done. I almost forgot to tell you; I'm an English major. My first winter vacation in college

I had some fun during this winter vacation besides just kept working. It was really interesting to hang out with friends. Every time I go out with them I feel so relaxing and happy. I have been to Sun Moon Lake, night markets, and Taipei. It was my first time going back to my home town for the last nine years. When I arrived at Taipei, I took the MRT to Dunghu to meet my uncle and aunt. After that we went to Wego to have lunch with grandma and cousins. What’s more, we also went window shopping. However, that was not the sweetest part. My aunt Nancy treated us the ice cream hot pot. The most delicious ice cream I have ever had.
Although I enjoyed this winter vacation very much. There seemed to have something I had not done. I ignored the most important part! That would be my major-English. Well, like what I said few days ago; I need to work on it or I will forget everything I have learned.

New Semester
Well, this is not journal one. :D:D I just want to post an entry. I met so many classmates today. What can I say, well it was really nice to see everybody and you all look so um..shine. :D Oh and there is one more thing I just found out!! It really feels different to post journals on Lang8 because we all know that people who speak English will correct our journals!!! However I did post one, I need to learn from mistakes after all. ANd it seems that they are easy to "be with". !!!!!

MONGA
If you haven't seen this movie, get a friend and go to the theater to watch it! My friends and I went to the movie this early morning. It is one of the most popular national film after Cape No.7 I think. This Saturday! By the way, Chinese New Year Eve, is thar what it called?! :D People get together and have a big meal. This is the most welcome holiday for children because they get to get lots of lucky money for reletives! And we need to stay up with families. It is going to be fun!! lol

Sun Moon Lake
Three of us went to Sun Moon Lake eventually. We took a boat to the other side of the lake. There were so many tourist and most of them are Chinese. We enjoyed the view a lot, and the food of course. It was great to have a lovely afternoon with friends. After the little tour, I keep on driving to Jiji. At first we didn't know what to do. But then we saw the little racing cars, it was so excitting. I love the speed! lol We also had some ice cream. Lookinf forward hanging out with you guys soon! :)

Time For Miracles
Thinking of what to do during this long long period of winter vacation. I work and I have fun. lol I went to a movie with Robert and Ian last week, it was okay going out with them. Maybe they were too quiet and I was too noisy. :D We are going to maybe Sun Moon Lake tomorrow. I have not been to anywhere else for a long time. Not even going back to Taipei. :( I miss you grandma. :) Chinese New Year is coming soon. Hope yall get lots of lucky money!

Final Journal
I think everything goes pretty well so far. Though sometimes I feel like having no motivation to keep on trying. Time doesn’t wait for me, he just keeps on going. Oh by the way, I know this assignment is part of the final exam. However, is it ok to have this done like a diary? I wish there is no grammar in the world, so I can just say and write what ever I want. No need to consider the spelling or grammar mistakes. It is just a wish after all, if teachers don’t tutor us these things we will never improve anyway. So it is impossible!
The first semester has almost past, I have experienced a wonderful time with friends and classmates. We sometimes get plenty of assignment and project to deal with. That makes us so exhausted. Okay, what next. I used to keep diary in English in fact, but I thought by doing so makes no help of improving. Besides, nobody would be able to pick my mistakes. It would be no use doing so. That’s why I stopped keeping diary in this language.
I hope I can follow the plans I had made on my studies. I am no longer a child anymore. I should act like I can deal with things by myself. Oh, another day for working. I wonder if I would spend more time on studies if I did not have to work! I would really love to have more time doing something for myself. But I just can’t I guess. To think it another way I am doing things for myself! It is part of my life I should enjoy it. No matter what comes next in my future I should take it or even fight it. Somehow the experiences taught me how to be brave and positive. LOL
Anyway, I believe next semester is going to be even more interesting! See you around.
